Week one of the builders!

So, on Monday our team of builders arrived to start the facelift of Kamberg Valley Hideaway!

They have been extremely busy and the progress has been fantastic.

We wanted to knock through from the second bedroom to our guest wing. This means the second bedroom can either be used by guests renting the guest wing, or by friends and family coming to stay with us. Here are some photos, before, during and after.
The second main indoor project was the tiling of the bathroom and shower. The tiler worked extremely hard and finished his job, so now it is up to Bryan and I to get it cleaned, painted and ready for our first guests!
And now for the major job of the builders, to paint the roof and exterior of the entire building! They have been cleaning, sanding, priming all week and it already looks loads better!
Whilst the builders have been busy with their work, Bryan and I have most definitely not been sitting on our backsides having a restful week! In fact, far from it!

We succeeded in getting the Farm Bakkie through COR (that took the whole of Monday), and it is now registered (that was Tuesday's job)! Yippee!

The Ford Ikon, has been fixed up by the panel beater (collected Wednesday evening) and is now up for sale, having also been thoroughly cleaned and polished!

The scullery is now sorted and more boxes have been unpacked and Bryan has discovered that we have a small waterfall on the property, after he hacked, chopped and cleared a part of the ravine!

A busy and exciting week has been had by all and our chilled weekend hasn't quite panned out that way, but we are making good progress and we are very excited to see how the property will look at the end of this coming week.

Check back next Sunday for a progress report!

Wow! Amazing progress! Love the bathroom floor especially and shower tiles....great choice. Finding that waterfall ....well, that's brilliant!...Well done Bryan! Looks like you have a great team of builders who also don't sit on their backsides! Can't wait for next update and glad to see the G&T tree in photos. Keep going you guys!!
